What are we looking for?

Strengthen bio-businesses in the Peruvian Amazon through partially reimbursable financing and business consulting, promoting the development of initiatives that contribute to their business consolidation and the conservation and restoration of Amazonian forests through:

  • Business consulting: Strengthen the business models of 40 bio-businesses through specialized technical assistance in business management, over a period of 3 years. .

 

  • Financing: Consolidate 55 bio-businesses through partially reimbursable grants over a 10-year period, for amounts of: US $50 thousand (with a 25% repayment), US $100 thousand (50% repayment) and US $150 thousand (65% repayment).

 

  • Financial articulation: Promote an Investor Roundtable and matchmaking spaces to connect investors with biobusinesses, and generate greater scale in their initiatives.

Aimed at

Bio-businesses (business organizations), with operations in the Amazon biome in the regions of Loreto, San Martín, Amazonas, Puno, Cusco and Madre de Dios, based on the use of forest resources under criteria of environmental, social and economic sustainability.

Eligible forms of business organization: Sole proprietorships or limited liability companies; open or closed corporations; formally constituted producers' associations, cooperatives, peasant or native communities, or communal enterprises, individuals with business (valid only for business consulting), and other business modalities defined by Peruvian regulations.

How do I know if I meet the selection criteria?

If the answer to these questions is YES, you meet the minimum eligibility and eligibility criteria for submitting a proposal:

  • Accounts with RUC in active and habida condition.
  • Accounts with annual sales of less than 1,700 UIT in 2025 (MSMEs) (Value of UIT in 2025: S/ 5,350).
  • Your biobusiness does not generate high environmental and social risks.
  • You do not participate in the voluntary carbon market.
  • (01) minimum year of formal incorporation and sales (to access business consulting).
  • (02) minimum years of formal incorporation and sales (to access financing).
  • Sales greater than S/. 56,400 in the last 12 months (to access financing); does not apply to indigenous bio-businesses.
  • No financial risk according to the Central Credit Register.
  • It has the right to use the forest area related to the bio-business.
  • The company has a permit to harvest forest resources, or is in the process of obtaining one (if applicable).
  • No serious environmental violations in the last 3 years.

Prioritized topics

Chains to be prioritized in the selection of eco- and bio-businesses:

  • Agricultural production under agroforestry systems for forest restoration purposes (for example, products such as cocoa, coffee, camu-camu, sacha inchi, achiote, copoazú, medicinal plants, aguaymanto, honey and by-products, among others).
  • Timber harvesting (e.g. products such as roundwood, sawnwood and their by-products).
  • Non-timber forest harvesting (for example, products such as Brazil nuts, shiringa latex, aguaje, asaí, ungurahui, bijao, cat's claw, among others).
  • (for example, services such as nature tourism, adventure tourism, bird watching, community tourism, among others).
  • Wildlife management (e.g., species such as taricaya, reptiles, among others).
