Tropical Forest Competitive Fund 2025-2

Closing Date: October 24 - 2025
CLOSED

What are we looking for?

Promote initiatives that contribute to the conservation of tropical forests and sustainable development in Peru, through the delivery of non-reimbursable funds to support economic, social, and local development and thus mitigate the effects of climate change. The financing is provided through a debt swap agreement between the Government of Peru and the Government of the United States.

The second call 2025-II continues to target the Southern Amazon landscape: Madre de Dios, Cusco, Apurimac, Atalaya and Purus (Ucayali), Carabaya and Sandia (Puno) and Satipo (Junin).

Aimed at

  • Local organizations directly linked to the use of the territory's natural resources.
  • Holders of different conservation modalities.
  • Indigenous organizations, native communities, and local, regional organizations with a recognized track record of working with indigenous peoples and the local population.
  • Universities, research centers and public and private institutes with the participation of indigenous communities or other local stakeholders from the productive or conservation sector.

Prioritized topics

  • Effective management of Natural Protected Areas, Regional Conservation Areas, Private Conservation Areas and other conservation modalities.
  • Strengthening of territorial coordination spaces to promote the articulated management of the landscape.
  • Promotion of sustainable economic alternatives.
  • Contribution to the financial sustainability of protected areas.

Proposals can articulate more than one of the themes prioritized in the contest, which will allow us to identify the needs and opportunities of the communities, support the dynamization of the local economy, contribute to the conservation of tropical forests and encourage the participation of women and youth.
